Equipment

Equipment Rental for Classes - for members.

The Guild is pleased to offer equipment for rental to help you get started. This will allow you to try fibre equipment to identify what suits you best. The rental involves a deposit and a three-month hire. The deposit and the unused hire are refunded when you return the equipment in good condition with the accessories supplied.

When you receive your equipment requirements from your tutor, we suggest you come past the Guild to get your equipment arranged. If you have any queries or to arrange a time, please get in touch with Prue at equipment@spinweavensw.org to make an appointment.

The Guild is able to provide rental on many different components important to our craft:

  • spinning wheels of various styles;

  • looms (rigid, 4-shaft, 8-shaft, inkle, etc.);

  • hand carders;

  • drum carders;

  • wool combs;

  • wool hackles; and

  • more!

Rental of equipment is a popular pastime of members. Many items in the Guild’s rental bay are often out to members trying a brand or learning a new skill. So, check on availability in advance of any projects you are contemplating.

Prices for items are listed on the equipment list and rental form but may change without notice. Contact the Guild for more details.
